I’m currently enrolled at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where I’m pursuing a bachelors degree in Science focusing on Journalism specialized in Advertising and Integrated Marketing with a minor in Art. Mixing both of my studies throughout my years of being a student I have developed so many ideas and new ways of going about things differently. Definitely, at the paced we are now in the media world I feel like it is a great chance for me to succeed at light speed. There are so many things trending and things that were trends. I have been a part of the Public Relations Student Society of America for a semester where I was the fundraising committee head. 

The tasks of this role had a lot of communication, management and coordinating skills involved. For every fundraiser events planned there was a meeting of who, what, where and how. As the chair, I had to make sure the plans would run well throughout the events. I had to supervise 5-10 students who were willing to be a part of the fundraiser event, be there on time and communicate with the audience. 

Not only that but to make sure that our message was received of the fundraiser. Managing the time for the fundraisers was a hard asset that I overcame and now successful at it. I had to make sure for every hour of the fundraiser there were 1-2 students helping me out advertise our fundraiser.There can be no misunderstandings because then there is room for errors. 

I have been in charge of hosting events since high school from senior nights to lock-ins to a farmers market. Moving towards my future I hope to become an event planner or media planner because I feel like that is something I can really succeed in the future like I’m doing now. I’m hoping to soon get certified on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. Hoping to gain all the experience I need for a better future.
